Hey I got a 06 2500 and i got a chance to get a wicked deal on a 6inch rough county lift and could get a pretty good deal on some 37's. Just wondering what you guys think about it and if there are any big problems with it thanks a lot

Well your going to loose significant MPG.... If your not in the mud MT style tires aren't worth the crappy howl or ride IMHO. It'll be tougher on suspension and steering components but it looks great LOL. just try to think whats really best for what you do and see if it's worth the extra$$ HP is more fun I think anyway.....but who am I to judge as I have 6" lift but I didn't put it in, I tossed my 37" BFG MT's and got radial terra grapplers and will NEVER look back... Hope this helps stur your pot....:stirpot:

thanks for the info well i can get 37 military tires for $60 a piece and the 16.5 in rim will fit on my truck with a 1/4in wheel spacer. I probably wont go too crazy on the trail but i will put it in a mud puddle once in a while. its just one of those things its just such a good deal i don't think i could pass it up

i dont think you will fit 16.5 rims unless u ditch the brakes... because a 17" rim as it is almost rubs the inside of the wheels.... as for the lift... its garbage, spend some extra dough and get a better quality system, you wont regret the ride of the quality of the components

I haven't heard many good things about Rough Country lifts, I have heard plenty of bad things about them.

well i know that the 16.5 rims will fit caues a buddy of mine had a set and i tried them and they will work with a little bit a wheel spacer cause the rim had very little backspacing. as for the lift if rough country is no good then whats a company that makes a good lift

I have the military 16.5 on my truck and they don't wear for chit they will last for a good long while and you can't beat the price for a 37in tire that's just my opinion you can find a set of aftermarket rims on ebay every now and then and they fit my truck with just a leavening kit

. I have the same lift on my truck since Dec. 2006. I never have had to replace any component on the front end....matter of fact, other than the water pump I never had any truck issues.

If u just want to lift it up...then get any of those , superlift, bds, top guns, pro comp , fabtech...all the same but just different colors and a little different here and there. If u are talking about a performance suspension setup...then ThurenFabrication and /or Carlisuspension is where u need to be.......

Especially on those heavy ply military 37's you are going to shake your teeth out with that rough country lift. Spend an extra 1,500 on a quality lift and you won't regret it
