I replaced both fuel filters on my 2018 ram 3500 megacab 6.7. I followed the instructions. I think the first try I didn't have the filter cap tightened, but after trying several times, I can't get the front fuel filter to prime. Is there a possibility of a defect in one of the 2 filters? The ignition is the keyless push button. Only has 16000 miles and it's the first time I change them. I do hear the pump in the tank working. I don't know what else to try. Any help...

Cycle the ignition to the run position with your foot off the brake wait 30 seconds for the pump to stop then turn the ignition off, do this 3-4 times then try and start the truck it should fire shortly after

I purchased both Mopar filters on eBay. They looked original. I had a thought that the rear filter may be the problem. I noticed how you have to push to engage the threads. There is a round ball like valve that has to be pushed to get the filter on. Not sure, but just wondering if th filter may not be pushing enough to get fuel to the front one. Just a thought. Newbie to these new 6.7 filters. I've had 24v and the first 6.7, but not anything with this system. Thanks for your replies.

It’s likely the front one stopping the flow. Rear one typically takes some effort to get on.

I paid $45 bucks for both... Sounds like it was to good to be true. Maybe my problem. Thanks for the insight.
Highly likely those are junk knockoff. You can't even get just the front filter from worldpac for that low of a price.

Your best bet for quality OEM filters is your local dealer or Geno's Garage.

Look at the filter boxes. The filter boxes will look slightly different, slightly different color, printing not lining up on corners, misspelled words, etc.
I have gotten counterfeit filters from Ebay and Amazon. They also sell a lot of counterfeit spark plugs. Got two sets of those also. Sent it all back. You need to throw those filters away if they cant be returned. To try to continue to fire the truck while starving the cp3 for fuel is not good. Both filters have built in areas to hold the check valves open. These areas are not usually made right on counterfeit filters. The damage from inferior filtration happens later. A set for less than $50 is a huge red flag. You are better off reinstalling your old filters.
I just pay what Genos Garage is asking when buying filters and move on. I don’t even risk Amazon anymore but there are legit places on Amazon if you can find a real dealership selling there. And, some sellers fake being legit businesses/dealerships. There are no legit places on Ebay.

I'm going to purchase new filters from the local dodge Ram dealership and try the process tomorrow. I just hope it's not going to turn out having to take the truck to the dealership. It's still under warranty, just don't want to go that route. Will post after I get new filters done. Thank you all for all the information. Live and learn I guess.

Well, finally figured out what went wrong with my no start after fuel filters replaced. Had to take the truck in to the dealership and they said the lift pump not priming enough to fill the front filter housing. Thankfully they replaced it under warranty. So now my Ram 3500 is back on the road. Guess that means the lift pump was probably going bad and incidentally found out the hard way. Thank you all for your information, comments.
