my buddy is purchasing a 07 6.7. he asked me to get him set up to get more power and mileage.

he wants an intake, programmer and an exhaust( which may not be possible with the dpf).

the programmer doesnt have to be the most powerful but must turn the dpf and egr off.
I was thinking smarty was the only choice. can the PMT or BD GT do that?

I guess what i am saying is help me spend my friends money. there are only a few catches.
1. I have to be able to install it.
2. it still has to be able to tow and be a dd
3. he is still going to try to keep it some what in warranty shape (intake our dealer is cool with)

Inspection should (I'm really not up to date on all states, but I know the what/whys/hows of the regulations behind them) only be concerned with if you have a code dealing with the exhaust treatment system. Most of the time, it would be an O2 sensor code (which the XRT turns the O2 sensors off anyways, so it shouldn't be an issue). Also, since the XRT turns off the EGR, I have yet to hear of an EGR related code popping up. I don't even know if the inspection centers are up to date on checking for EGR codes? Either way, you should be fine. Where I live, there are emissions tests (due to Ozone Non-Attainment) but most shops don't even have the proper code scanners to check for codes. There are even less reputable shops that will ignore a CEL for a few extra dollars....
