ok 99 5 speed just lost 5th gear i saw a post on here a couple months ago a guy orderd a built 5 speed where can i get one...and what clutch do i get now might as well go all out...any input thanks...the trans shifts fine but 5th gear just sounds like its only halfway engaged...any ideas..i think the nut might of backed out

well the 5th gear nut fix is EXTREMELY easy just takes a few hours to do..same thing happened to me when i put a new tranny..the nut backed off and i completely lost fifth gear..but i fixed it the next day

It was Valair that ordered it, and just smoked it a few weeks, or maybe a month ago. I'll find the thread

Its nothing hard once you get in the tranny all you need is an allen wrench and a small hammer adn chisel is all i used once you get the tail housing off just slide the gear back into place and dodge had some kinda pattern for tighting the small bolt on the nut ill see if i can find the paper work i got with the new nut but all you have to do other then that is i put some lock tight on it and thread the nut back on then hammer and chisel to tighting it up then everything goes back together pretty simple mine took two days waiting on a new nut from dodge because they told me they had a new style that wouldnt come off as easy same nut came in 2 days adn $100 later.

thanks hillbill the only reason im thinkin new trans is because i have alot of play while in gear so its starting to wear and im affraid if i start to pull if it will hold or not
