Are you sure the engine is running? lol. Or maybe you are deaf and just not aware of it yet.

My truck is too loud with a 5" straight pipe with my single turbo so here is what I am willing to do to help you out: I am willing to trade you my turbo for your junky twins. Your truck will be loud enough then, and mine will be quiet enough. Win-win.
yup pretty sure shes running unless i have a black smoke machine jammed in the exhaust system rolling that out everywhere.. ive passed quite a few of my freinds standing on the throttle and they even said how quiet it is..

nah im good on the trade my "junky" twins will stay put right where they are.
I have seen it posted several times on here that twins really quiet an exhaust down. I think you proved that without meaning to.
I've got stock downpipe to 4" to 5" elbow with dual 5" stacks and always thought it was loud until I recently swapped out the mud terrains for some all terrains and that really quieted it down. It's not really all that loud unless you've got the windows down anymore...or maybe I'm just used to it.
Country hick..yeah I tried to do my homework I've been browsing through straight pipe threads for upwards of 4 hours but didn't see anything that related to me..I kinda wanted to think that turning an extra turbine would have some sound supression characteristics but wasn't sure..

2012.??? I'm not sure what your getting at??..I'm talking about exhaust tone not tire moan??
The reason it's quiet is due to the compounds.

Rjustman lets see pics of this fummins, then we'll work on the loudness problem.
yeah i need to upload pics.. ill try to get some tomorrow.. hell i still need to update my build thread lol..ill get some up.
really hoping that twins quiet them down, my dually came with stacks and its stupid loud and i have my twins waiting on the shop bench to go on
It actually sucks..I don't like horrible loud but I like to hear my exhaust when I want..and well.....I can't hear ANYTHING
Conservation of energy

A turbine works by extracting energy from the exhaust gas and part of that energy is in the form of sound. A compound setup will only exaggerate that sound absorption.

Side note: Federal and most state laws consider a turbocharger as a sound muffling device.
mufflers are overrated anway
mine went from really loud to really quiet when i put my twins on. still sounds like a peterbuilt, just not as loud. most everyone is amazed and loves how nice it is in the cab
Same here, my 6" straight pipe sounded like a muffled 4" exhaust with my compounds.
I wish all i had were exhaust complaints lol..between the rattle of the 12v and the horrible gear roll of the zf6.. I'd kill for some exhaust noise...guess its good to hear its normal.
well turbos are mufflers according to the law... i guess it makes sense
I think I'll take my resonator off and add another turbo :stirpot:

As a kid in the 60's I went on week long trips with my trucker father to do inventory at pickups and deliveries.
I can still hear those pipes in my head. Hour after hour of unbelievably loud noise.
Do you have a stereo? A nagging GF or wife? Kids?
Be thankful.
But as a gesture of compassion, I will call a Waaambuance for you if so desired.
yeah im not looking for stupid loud but a good exhaust note when i want would be cool... ive always had straight piped exhaust.. its never bothered me in the cab or ever actually..

Rob this thread wasnt ever mean to be a whining session.. it was a simple question i thought id throw out since i couldnt pick anything up.. im not so old that i dont like the sound of a good loud exhaust note on demand..or mind a little exhaust note in the cab.. if they dont like the hum of an exhaust people know they can find alternate transportation.. but since i realize that twins quiet it down hey i can live with that.. im not going to give up power and drivability for sound.. but thanks for the offer on that "waaaabulance"..

thx all for the responses.. good to know i can get help or questions answered when needed..
