I've researched this as well with no luck. Also considering a set of GM seats from a silverado or Tahoe with the integrated seatbelt but undecided on custom console options.

gm seats are much more comfy, i would love to steal the seats out of my dads 06 d-max to put in my 96 haha
Anyone ever done this yet ? I bought some 4th gen seats to put in my single cab 12v and looking for some tips. My buddy just bought a 1st gen with 4th gen seats and it looks really good,
Tips as far as what? Wiring or making mounts? I have a set of 2nd gen quad cab seats I'm putting in my single cab. I need to make custom mounts and wire the seat belt release.
You have seats. You have doors. You have seat mounts. The seat bottoms I have seen are always flat. Measure to make sure the seat you want will fit between your doors. Then put the seats in the cab. Now you have to figure out how make or modify mounts so the seats will stay there. I once put a dodge dakota (mid size) seat in a mini-truck. I unhooked the back bolts and using either the original or dakota rails (forget which) I put the seat in. I never hooked the back down. It sat ok but I did not want to drill holes to mount it correctly. Had I actually cared I would have made a steel mount to make it right.
I have some 05 or so seats out of a 4door I have put the fronts in mine but I have to make some mounts its only going to take a little work and about 50 bucks in sup, or I might just sell them as I want a new truck
lly let me know how they work in your single cab thats what i have and wanna put them in

Ok will do
i have a 12 1500 and wanted to try and see if it could be done but as stated the floor mounts are way different
i wonder if its possible to fit mounts on the bottoms of newer model seats?
you have to do some welding as far as the brackets go but it is very possible to swap in 3rd gen seats for the front. Ive seen racing, chevy 40/20/40 seats, 3rd gen and i even heard about someone fitting sebring convertible seats. Im not to sure about the rear though. I just picked up a set of 3rd gen leather and suede to retrofit into my 97 eclb in the spring, so i guess ill find out then haha hope this helps
P.s sorry for posting links to other forums just want to help out

This is an interesting idea. I was going to recover mine but I may look into newer seats.

It is possible because I just test drove a 96 that had 09 seats in it. The center console was still from the 96 and it sat a little lower than the seats did, but not much. The driver seat was also full power and it worked. The only thing was the seats must have come from a quad cab 09, because they would not flip all the way forward so access behind the seat was tighter.

Did it have the rear seats from the 09?

found this when i had a 2nd gen, me and a buddy did it. it did take a while but loved the look and the feel. 100% do-able and really nice to have. tried to do the 06 full center console with it, (didnt turn out that great) but im sure you guys would be able to do a better job then our drunk selves.
