My dad has a 2004 ram with a hemi. He owns a business in iowa and its one of his work trucks. It never tows its more of a get from point a to b truck. Anyways the motor went bad and he was qouted 7000 for a new hemi, around 4 for a rebuild. Or he could sell it. I think he should do a Cummins swap. Although im not sure if he can use the stock tranny. Its an automatic. What do you guys think? Sell it? Swap it? 4bt or 12 valve?

I think the 4bt would be cool. A few mods maybe 200 hp and 400 ft-lbs. You should be able to get an adapter to use the stock tranny too, although it would need a new converter.

4bt would be cool, but i am a fan of a good running 12v, could keep it stock for reliability, however i am unsure on trans options idk if that trans bolts up to a 12v?

For what people are asking for the 4 cylinders, you'd likely come out cheaper with a 6BT. It's so strange to me how most of the 4BT's I see are generally more expensive than the 6BT's.

Yea, my dad and I looked at putting one in our '53 powerwagon and they wanted around 3-4k for the engine and tranny out of a ford...
