I did the swap -- it was very worth it for me. It takes a lot to build an auto tranny to hold moderate power. An NV4500 with 5th gear fix and a southbend clutch will give you all you need for a daily driver.
I can come up with a complete parts list if you want, but I do not have exact part numbers anymore.
I did the swap on a first gen was well worth it to me. Here is a web site that sells kits to do the swap. Not saying to buy from them or not would be cheaper if you could get the parts on your own.
