Hello all,
I am new to this site and wanted to share with my experience. I own a 95 2500 5.9 that I had upgraded to an ATS transmission with a valve body upgrade and a triple-lock TC with Commander This set up with a # 6 fuel plate and gauges cost around $8000. I had this upgrade in 2005 and wanted it to tow my 10k 5th wheel. At the start this new set up always shifted hard in every gear. I was always worried about the wear on transmission conponents because of the way the transmission was shifting. When towing my 5th wheel it felt like the truck wanted to pull the trailer off the pin in every gear. I had good reason to worry. 4 years and 39,000 miles after the install, the transmission snapped! I contacted ATS and they told me that I had a 3 year warranty with 100,000 miles. I was out of warranty. Right now the truck is dead in the water and sitting in front of my house. Ats said that they would help with the parts to a certain extent and we shall see. The local transmission shops all quaoted me around $1000 just for labor. I am now in contact with several transmission rebuild shops to include Goerend and DTT. I am not even sure I want to fix the ATS set up at this point. This is my first post (hence the name). I will figure it out. I was just sharing my experience.
