I used a four wheeler lift and two 6x6's and a strap to secure it. Worked out great!

i did mine onthe garage floor w/ a floorjack totally by myself cuz the wife was preggy. did the t case seperate. the crossmember is a . sledgehammer and a couple 4x4s cuz youll pound thru em beatin that cm in and out. the trans isnt too awful heavy but hard to alighn the tcaase back when its goin in cuz its on an angle. also turnin the motr is best done witha big screwdriver on the flywheel teeth. from the btm so ya dont hafta keep goin up top to turn it offa the pulleys. i think the cooler lines were the worst part probly

I did a complete auto to manual swap outside on the grass with floor jacks.

No trans jack, no auto lift, no nothin'.:thud:

Just start by unbolting the transfer case and remove it first. It's not very heavy. Then take a big hammer and knock the crossmember out. Then just unhook the trans connections and secure your jack underneath it. Unbolt it, then slide it out. :thumbsup

Quite a few parts in a valve body. Are you tearing it down or just replacing it? If tearing it down you can pull just the valve body out fairly easily ('cept for the dang park rod C clip) and take it to a bench or better place to work on it. Push the spring coils together from under each plate if you pull it all the way down all at once. A couple springs are very similar but need to go back in the same place. Make sure you know where/which way each valve goes back in. Keep it clean and use lint free rags.
