went to go sell my truck today and the tranny is acting up !!it shifts fine while in drive the guy went to shift it manually, and theres no second gear when you shift it , but you put in drive and its fine??,,,
also now when you punch it from a dead stop , you have to let off throttle to shift into second ?? help please fast !

When were the bands last adjusted?. If the front band is badly out of adjustment it can cause delayed shifting. I don't know about the manual shifting issue though. Maybe part of the shift linkage is out of wack?.

i just adjusted band its fine,,

Well not sure how many miles are on the trans or if it was used to tow heavy loads or run with some power adders but if it was then the trans might just be ready for a rebuild. These trannies are well known for being sensative and wearing out quickly so it might just be at that point.

When ever second gear is involved don't discount a band issue.
