My 47 RE Tranny is in great shape I don't abuse it, but I will be towing my boat & trailer this upcoming summer total towing weight 10K......Looking for common sense advice
on whether it's advised to upgrade it slightly with GM governor solenoid & BD pressure transducer......when I do my next fluid change I'll be adjusting the bans as well.
I'm just thinking about swapping out a few vulnerable parts in the 47RE to slightly improve it without building a new one and hope the old adage is wrong..."if it's not broken
then don't fix it"

pan off mods dont hurt.

a better convertor and VB will help the internals live longer as well.

The Borg HD solenoid is every bit as good (and arguably better, given the GM solenoid's track record in its original GM application, but I digress...), and the Rostra HP transducer puts up with more pressure than the BD setup (which is just an early transducer with an adapter pigtail) in my experience. Plus, both of these items are considerably cheaper than the ones you listed.

A good manual valve is always a good idea, although the best one on the market (Superior...in my opinion) is only available at this time by buying their shift kit, which I would also recommend as a decent upgrade for the DIYer on a budget.

No. You don't need a billet housing of any sort for the Borg HD solenoid. It drops right into the OEM housing. There's no need for "better flow" in a governor solenoid housing.

Yeah, Superior doesn't sell their manual valve and shuttle valve separately, so you have to buy their whole "shift kit". Though I'm not a huge fan of simply "shift kitting" the 4-speed Dodges, it's a heck of a lot better than leaving it stock, and it's a doable DIY project if you're organized about it.

Dynamic.........I was able to purchase "separately" the Sonnax manual valve ($26.99) from Feiock Performance for my 47RE to go with the Rostra pressure transducer I purchased 2 days ago along with the Borg Warner pressure solenoid.
I also picked up a spare Accumulator spring.............Hopefully with these few additions I can say I've done the most before dropping the transmission ........Thanks Scippy

You can buy the Sonnax valve separately any time you want, but it doesn't work nearly as well as the Superior. But, it's better than nothing, I guess.

There's plenty more that you could do in there without pulling the transmission. It just depends upon your goals and your budget.

Custom valve body (or even just a "shift kitted" valve body is better than stock), billet accumulator piston, billet intermediate servo (or at a minimum, a billet servo cover and pin plug), billet or reinforced band strut, billet band anchor, deep aluminum pan...
