What are some of the differences between the 47re and the 48re?
How can i tell one from the other from under the truck?

I had the trany built and its holding up great, besides the 1-2 gear hunting.
I was under the truck the other day and noticed paint or some sort of coating flaking off the transmission. I dont remember any coating or paint on my other trany.

Just want to know if the guy put in a 47re, which im assuming will fit.

Thanks,
Clayton

ECM is different from the 47RE to 48RE so I highly doubt he put in a 47RE when the truck came with a 48RE

48RE is superior mechanically, it is the evolution of the chrysler trans.

The 47RE is more modify able for horsing around.....

the 47RE is way better once the 48RE parts are Intel'd..... but not easily intalled in a later model truck.

Just a Story of opinion here.
