I to be in this hp range but the truck is dd and i do tow with it nothing over 20k and rarely over 10k. How reliable is 500 for a dd? All current mods are in sig, And I dont really wanna do twins. Thanks

500whp can be very reliable for a dd if you go about it correctly and drive it correctly. Get a set of 7x.010 injectors and some sort of s300 (a 62/71/12 or a 63/68/12) would probably work nicely. Put headstuds in or retorque the stock bolts and you should be there. Don't beat on the truck until it's up to temperature and the t-stat has opened.

What are 7x.010 "rated" for, 150's? is this still a good tow set up?

i also would like to know how to hit over 500hp. Im at 436 right now, that was on edge comp, hoping to hit about 450 at least with the quads fueling. I was thinking a set of 200 injectors, what would be a good single spooling turbo? I dont tow much, so alittle lag will be alright. Also one to keep egts cool, i cant max the truck out because the 60mm is so small

Anywhere from 100 to 150's, depending on supplier and builder.

200's would give you very quick spool up.

150's and twins will do it with excellent towing ability and street manners.
175's and 200's as well.

if you wanna stick with a single then go with the above recommended turbos' but 200's might be too much for those turbos.. id stick with 150's if one of those were chosen.

Many cummins forum sponsors would be happy to set you up with a turbo. I have enjoyed dealing with Jacob at Diesel Auto Power (JKidd).

how hard would it be to drive around for a while with a set of 150's on a hooked HY?
Been doing that for a year now. As long as you don't drive like a d**k you're good to go.

Do you tow with it?

I've towed a little with them. Nothing more than around 5k though. Didn't do bad. Always turned O/D off for hills and keep the Rpm's up and i never had problems withe EGT's. I wouldn't tow heavy though.

just keep your electronics turned off, or on timing only, and you should be alright.
