Steve, I thought I remembered reading a while back you ran some Hot Shot Stiction Eliminator, is that accurate and have you used any more sense? I'm about to change the oil after doing a treatment and already noticed that what little "blow by" I had has seemed to disappear. Going to do the oil change and another round of ATF/2so; another 4 years or so and i'll be half way to your 400k:grin2:

Yes, its a regular additive on every oil change. OCI is @ 10k intervals using royal purple 15w-40 oil. I seem to be loosing about 1 quart now around 7k miles, which is not bad for 408k miles. I am happy to take that if I can make it to 500k before a teardown.

With the most recent trip into Idaho (~2000 miles), seems I should be able to pass that 500k mark. Motor still runs awesome.

Thought I'd post an update on the truck... about to hit 420k this week, still gives me 21~22 mpg every tank if I drive reasonable, 22-23 if I work at it. Had a few issues in the past year, AC leaked empty again, found the problem (condenser), swapped in a new Red Head steering gear (leaked but otherwise still tight) & had a ball joint not staying in the bore. Other than that, not bad since 400k.

Maintenance, maintenance and more maintenance, never lets me down. I would have zero issues or concerns driving to the other corner of the country today.

Rock solid truck!

I love seeing it make it that far with bigger turbo, injectors, and a tuner. What would you say your avg. hp has been over its life? Also you don't tow/haul much right?

mine is totally detuned for daily driving... little to no fuel wasted. i have taken full advantage of reduced weight wheels, AL driveshaft, locking hubs and now light weight pulleys. i still have room to pull back fuel even more in the cruise zone and still have benefits of throttle response past it

a coworker asked how much i thought i saved in fuel now vs 2 yrs ago and it was calculated out to approx 1100/yr for approx 35k miles a year. mods pay for themselves over time for sure...
