It depends on how much you want to spend. without taking the pump off you can move your plate full forward, or grind your own, or purchase one. adjust starwheel a bit, bigger injectors such as 370's or 5X12's, you will be running pretty damn hot with a stock turbo so id suggest at MIN. a hybrid for your existing turbo or going with a aftermarket one. you will want to Add a lot of air, so an intake is essential. the stock one wont do. If you can get the pump off and on a test bench you can get it calibrated for more fuel that way, and you may want to look into some Dv's then and Timing (although timing can be done with the pump on the truck as well)

Big turbo, injectors, 4k kit w/12 springs, fuel plate, other free pump mods, air filter, timing, exhaust, and some other stuff. Just do a search about it and you should find alot more info

400hp should be relatively easy for that motor to make, the tranny is going to be the thing that will be pricey.

the engine is built enough to handle 600hp all day from the factory

And an easy 400hp on a 215 engine only takes some free tuning and a turbo.
An auto tranied engine may take a little more, but with tuning not any more than a turbo, injectors and a 2095 plug. Maybe a little extra rpm to make it fun

X 2!

The motor is allready built. The only area of concern would be the Cam if you want to spin over 4kRPM consistently, and the headgasket.

Honestly, building a motor for 600HP then running it at 400 will make for a doggy motor. It's never really going to feel like it comes up on power.

The pistons/rods/head will all handle 4K RPM and 500RWHP. For a long long time

Headwork ... Headwork ... Headwork ...

That is the key to making usable and relable horsepower. Take a look at my thread under this same section ... and I have some progress pictures of my truck right now.

I am going from a little over 400 ... to break over 600 horsepower.

Thats your choice. It depends on what your going to use the truck for.

I personally went with a single. Industrial Injection Silver Bullet 66/74/14

yeah, i'm picking up a 12v hopefully this summer, manual of course, and with grinding and sliding the plate, exhaust, 4 gsk kit and 12 springs, cranking the star wheel and intake i'll be around smokin diesel. but i've heard people getting 1500 hp out of a stock bottom end, so just do top end work and you will be in the clear.
