what are the benefits, how does it take the play out of the steering, and how much can i get one for?

thats the brace...not the trac bar

apparently the trac-bar out of the gen 3 trucks will stiffen up the steering in 2nd gens

i just cant figure out how

I have one and I like it, especially when I did my lift, much easier then the ball joint OEM one. Goodbye DW.

what did they change after 02 to make the 03+ better?

Rubber bushings at both ends. The 02 and earlier has a bushing at the diff side and a ball joint at the frame side, when the ball joint wears out or comes off you get death wobble which can be very unsafe.

I have a 2" leveling kit, will that affect anything? If end up going to a 3rd gen can I get a stock track bar or do I need an adjustable one because of the 2"?

No, it's good up to a 3" lift then after that you need a adjustable.

I think he means a stock 3rd gen bar is ok up to 3", then an adjustable 3rd gen bar would be needed if this clears anything up. Thats the way I understood it.

but to my knowledge there isnt an adjustable OEM 3rd gen track bar

which means your looking at after market..whch put you right back at $250 for a thuren
