3rd gen coils and spacers

Got a friend with stock 06 coils and 3 inch coil spacers. I want to go back to closer to stock height. Will his coil springs work on my 97 and his spacers?

are they from a gas truck. The gasser 3/4 ton springs would be an improvement over stock 2nd gen diesel springs.
