Hey guys I'm looking to switch it up a little. I'm looking into doing a 351vgt over a s475 do u guys think this is a good setup for the mods in my sig. My transmission and head studs will be done before twins. I will be adding a tst comp. Please tell me if there is a better setup out there for the mods that I have. I will only be towing my toyota rock crawler and sometimes a small camp trailer. I am looking for a quicker spool up so I'm not blacking out every intersection I go through. :hehe:

I run pretty close to the same setup as jigabop and it flat out rips, pretty cheap route to go. I'd do it again. See around 70psi and 2 black marks in the rearview no matter what speed....

you could go either way. I love my setup :) and personally I think borg warner turbo's are higher quality than holset turbos..

If I were to change anything about my setup other than the damn 4.10 gears which are in the works to be changed, I would probably go with 175hp SDX injectors.

357 over 475

Ok I'm getting convinced how much fuel can this twins setup handle and how much hp can it produce

Awesome so my 7x.012 should run pretty well with them where should I source parts I just looked up turbos and they are around 4k new is there a better way to go about it I'm pretty sure I'm just going to build my own piping I think I can do it alot cheaper that way.

I thought an external hate wasnt needed unless you are after more than 650hp with it. Due to the better design of the turbine housing, more exhaust gasses can escape easier. I may not be right but I swore I read a statement from Carl stating this.

Ok well now im confused on what I wanna do again I like the idea of not running a vgt to stay away from electronics. Maybe I need to understand twins better but the s357 isn't very much bigger than the hx does it out perform the hx by alot? I'm just thinking that 75mm will have to pull through that small 357 to get the top end power. Am I underestimating it our should I run a larger top turbo. Sorry im twins stupid guys.

The exhaust side is larger, and the internal wastegate is larger, making it able to pass more flow than the hx35, a useful characteristic with twins. The 351s exhaust side is smaller than both IIRC, but guys have been pushing them much harder than most would consider pushing a stock turbo, and they seem to hold up fairly well.

the 75 will be pushing air into the small turbo..

the hx35 = 56/60/12 the super b version of the s357 = 57/65/14

so the S357 flows a LOT more exhaust than the hx35, and its light compressor wheel makes it spool up quickly. also having the 65 exducer in the 14cm² housing reduces the drive pressure of the turbo drastically over the hx35. Helps keep your EGT's down and better supports higher HP applications.
