OK, been looking around a lot on here. Looks like I could go with either a 33" (295/70/17) or 35x12.50/17 Trail grappler with little or no rubbing. Stock height. NO leveling. (i'm not chancing Death Wobble, Period) But with the 3.73's i'm afraid the 35's are gonna make it too sluggish. I don't really feel like puttin 4.10's in it and getting everything recalibrated... BUT i think the 35's would look sick. And i know they'd fit after seeing a 3rd gen with 37's stock height/no leveling. So this is kind of a gearing question as well as looks. what do ya'all think?

33s would look better and if your into the performance side of it, the 33s will be faster than if you went to 35s (obviously). Some trucks look too crammed full with too big of tire and no leveling or lift kit. Just my opinion.

I'm gonna lean the other way...You have a big truck that makes big torque! Why not mount the 35s and make it a BIG Truck? Besides, from what I've read on here, the Cummins won't even feel the 35s. IMHO, 33s look small on a Mega Cab. 35s look like that's how they should have come from the factory!

hmmm... interesting point. and i found out the the 35" one is actually 34.84" and the 295 is 33.54". So.... It's not even a 2" difference so maybe it'd be worth it for the little extra size.... price difference is only $8 a tire.

305 would refer to the width of the tire. Overall Tire height would depend on the aspect ratio (70/75) and the rim diameter.

What tires and size are they?

Thanks for the input.

you were right though. your tires are 33.98" (from the nitto website). Great tires btw. had em on my last truck.

305mm wide
aspect ratio 70%
70% of 305 = 213.5
213.5 mm is the sidewall height.
213.5 x 2 (2 sidewalls top to bottom) = 427
427 mm converted to inches (427/25.4) =16.8
16.8" of sidewall + 17" of rim 33.8"

Its not always exact but usually within a couple tenths.

I just put these on my mega...ProComp 35x12.5x17s. I do have a Kore leveling kit and 3.73 gears. Love the 35s...no real felt loss in power.

i was looking at 33s but the 35s look so much better on the Megas in my opinion...the ProComp Xtreme A/Ts come w/a 40K warranty. Easy decision for me and very glad I got the 35s vs the 33s.

My 07 with carli starter system and 35" Mud Grapplers. Very slight decreasee in power. My 33" Cepeks looked a little small. We ran 35's on my son's 2500 with no level or lift for a while, but there was a very slight rub.

I vote 35's. These are 35x12.5x17's on 5.71 inch backspace. 2'' level kit and no rubbing what so ever.

And these are 295/70/R17 Nitto Terra's on a 4.5 inch backspace. I had very minor rubbing with this combo.

Like you said above, there is not much different in height between a true 35 and a 295. I think toyo is the only exception.
