I am wanting to get some 315/70 17 BFG AT's and was wondering how bad it will hurt my mileage. They will also be on stock wheels.

Those of you that have these tires do you like them and are they lasting mileage wise?

Do you have to have a leveling kit with stock wheels?

I put those tires on my 98.5 Dodge 4x4 with Hummer rims. My milage is 17.5 to 18.5 roughly. I bought the truck with large tires so can not compare. the speedometer was recalibrated before I got the truck. and rechecked with the GPS. 70mph is right at 1700rpm with automatic trans.

this is gonna hurt, on mine when it was stock it avg 18. i put the 315 on it it went to 11 with a chip intake and exh i got it back to 14- 15 with the way i drove it easy. mhop big tires are long gone and not worth the money or waste of time for it.

Bandits Diesel did you have the speedometer recaliberated? If not that is why I would think it dropped so much.

I have them on stock steely rims w\ the 2" leveling kit. It did not change my milage by more than 1-2 mpg IF even that. The truck got 18-19 city 20 hwy before the tires and leveling kit - now I average 19 hwy and 18 cty...

mdrnizd, what are you runnin now? I was thinkin about doin the same thing until fuel took a turn for the worst. I just filled up and hand calculated my mileage to about 20.2 (85% highway) which is damn good IMO. I'm runnin 285/70 BGF AT's right now their right around 40k. I figured i can get another 5-10 until I desperately need new rubbers. But, I feel like if I upped it to 315's, it'd hurt the wallet much more than it would help my ego haha.

As far as fittin em...You'd be fine, the space I have in my wheel well is rediculous with my levelin kit, looks like tonka truck tires on a big rig.

Any other guys see reaaaally bad mileage drop with 315 AT's?

went from the stock BFG 265's to yokohama 315's not long ago. . [email protected] I would average around 17.7-19.2 mpg. at the beginning of this month I took a 600 mile round trip vacation and averaged 18.2 running 70-75mph. hand calculated BTW

I only dropped about 1.5mpg when I went to the 315's. Where are you located? Fill out your sig. I'm thinking about selling my 315's and goin to 35" BFG MT's.

I got 19 on the free way with stockers. Now I get about 17 on the free way, roughly 15-16 around town with my 315's

Everyday driving i get about 15 (hand calculated) and highway I get 20 (hand calculated). I REALLY makes a difference in how you drive. If I drive 65 the MPG will hit 20-21. As soon as I hit about 68 or so mph, the MPG goes down. This is with my 315's. I went to Chattanooga last weekend with the truck (wife, me, all our crap) which is about 600 miles one way through the mountains of KY and TN. and did 19.8 MPG. I picked up a gooseneck flatbed trailer while I was there, (7000lbs empty) and drug it home and got 12 MPG pulling it through the mountains.
