Do you know if it can be done? 3.0 Kings or similar on the 5.5 kore kit?

Jerry it absolutely can be done. I run 2.5's with my 5.5 kore coils and srtlegal on here ran that exact setup with his KORE tech series. I how ever seriously recommend that you call Carli and order up a dialed in 3.0.
What are you running right no

You can mount 3.0s but you might need to clearance out your top spring mount/retainer to make room. Chuck will have all the info you need to get it set up perfectly. He's had a few different variations of that system.

I believe the fox 3.0's that where on strtlgl's where 12in fox 3.0's. I currently run 12in 2.5 Kings

you'll be surprised what that mega pig can do with some Carli valved 3.0s under there. :party018:
Very true... A set of 2.5's would probably be all you need if you only take it on fire roads. You could save some coin that way as well.

:agree2: True...True.

going from 2.0s to 2.5s is a BIG step up. 2.5s can handle 90% of the hard stuff out there. 3.0s are only really needed for the hardest of conditions.

You can look into the Bilstein 2.65s as well. They are kind of in between 2.5s and 3.0s. As most know I'm a HUGE fan of these Bilsteins and wouldnt trade them for 3.0s...unless they were black hawks. LOL

So 12 travel right? And that works on the 5.5 kit? In the moto world everything is eye to eye... Pardon my ignorance

thx

Strt's were 13" somehow but I'm sure 12's would work fine. Those stiff kore coils are worth looking into aswell.

WhiCh system do you have? If you have 2.0's you probaly don't have the billet towers. You will need kore, Carli or Thuren towers to run 3.0's and will likely have to ream the inside of the shock pass through.

But really like everyone says there is really no "need" for 3.0's.

The 2.65's are killer and in all the tests do everything a 3.0 can do!

Thuren has king 2.5 remotes and 2.5 piggy backs for 1750 front and rear with towers if you need them.

Carli valving or thuren valving are excepted as the best!

Jeremy from DRC and I were the only ones that had Fox 3.0's on a Tech system. Once we found that Kore just gave BOTH of us some off the shelf shocks with standard valving I switched gears..Sage did some very trick stuff to them, what he did to those Fox's are what he is doing to his Kings now.

The Tech system is an absolute waste of money, especially for the price. I would personally get some coils and other pieces from Don Thuren, save your self ALOT of money and have a truck that will ride super smooth. Although he will package it with 2.5's Just tell him you want some man shocks..

There is a few steps you have to do to run 3.0's on a truck with short arms, but we can cross that road when you get there...
