Would a 2nd gen manifold and turbo work on a 6.7. I have a buddy with a silver bullet on his 02. he is wanting to get rid of it. Would it work on my truck??? If so what are the advantages and disadvantages in comparison to a 3rd gens. What would need to be changed. Just the down pipe and the tube from the turbo to intercooler???

It would not work without changing the manifold and turbo. Even then, the turbo on a second gen is between cyls 3-4 right in the middle of the motor where on the common rail engines it is between 4-5. At a minimum you'd need a new downpipe and intercooler tube, and I'm pretty sure the oil drains and feed lines need to be changed too.

All correct, and you would have 2 vent the ccv to the atmosphere. I was looking into this till I decided on twins.
