OK, been on RV.net and have one OP stating he owns a 2500 WITH the Aisin..I, in my infinite wisdom:hehe::rof..stated, "2500 was never offered with the Aisin"...I was called out and told by another poster that "some" 2013's and 14's had the Aisin in them:shock: I AGAIN stated that it never happened...I know of NO ONE that has a 2500 with the Aisin...Am I wrong:confused013: I thought one of the biggest rant's against Chrysler with the 2500 was that it WASN'T offered with the Aisin...I really don't understand why Chrysler doesn't offer all three tranny's with all three gearings in the 2500 and the 3500 SRW trucks.

Anyway...I know of NO ONE that owns a 2500 with the Aisin, and seems a lot would like to have the option of having it, but that's it's not even offered on the 2500's......I "thought" I knew the answer to this, but is there something I'm overlooking??

..........OK, what's the truth?

I've never heard of a 2500 having an Aisin. Give them the popular line (pics or it didn't happen)...

I've never seen it offered in a 2500, never...I think it would be great if Chrysler challenged Ford's F250 and a Chevy's 2500 by going with the Aisin in the Ram 2500, but, again...I have a 13 brochure showing all specs, GVWR's, GCWR's, etc...and NOWHERE does it show a 2500 with an Aisin..

agree....raise the hood, show us a picture.....

Jim as far as I know 2500s are either g56 or 68rfe, the dealer could have told them aisin to make a sale or two, now if I had the money I would consider swapping from the 68 with that's still not stock

Chris, I'm almost wondering if this guy was actually TOLD he had the Aisin in his 2500...I've had one tell me he has a "SRW 2500" with the Aisin...I had another tell me that there were some 13 and 14 2500's that came out with the Aisin, but due to availability...Chrysler stopped offering them in the 2500:shock:

Needless to say, I told them I needed proof of some sort before I believed the one poster "owned" a 2500 with the Aisin and proof from the other to show there were 13's and 14's out there with Aisins, ( I don't believe it).

Some even showed a picture with the hood up on a Ram with the 68RFE and another Ram with hood up showing the Aisin, (pointing out difference in where tranny dispsticks are located, right hand side, (drivers side), Aisin..left hand side,(passengers side), 68RFE..

To be honest Jim if they did offer the aisin with 2500 me and a lot of others would have paid extra for that trans, I think looking from engine bay it will be hard to tell difference of 2500 and 3500, the DEF fumes are going to there heads lol, wait I forgot one of those guys got a '13 without DEF

Yeah, I remember that one....never saw a picture of that 13' to prove it out Chris....I don't know if some people just don't understand what they own, or understand what equipment they have on their truck. GVWR? GCWR, RAWR, gearing and on....

also agree that Chrysler would have sold more 2500's if Aisin was offered in the 2500....would sure give Chevy/GM Allison a run for their money

NC, you are correct, of course. An attendee at May Madness last year swore his 2012 had an Aisin, and the dealer told him that to convince him to buy it. I showed him the oil pans on his trans and on my Aisin, and the Aisin ID plate on my trans, missing from his trans, of course. He said he planned to go back and hammer on the dealer for their lying ways.

Those RV sites are just about the worst places on the entire net to get accurate information about trucks. I've read more nonsense than I would have ever cared to be exposed to. Are you actually serious about this? With all you know about these trucks I'm surprised such tripe would even elicit a response much less an entire thread dedicated to it.

Well, Ram had to do something to differentiate the 2500 from the 3500, and give the 3500 the extra towing capacity over the 2500..

I knew the answer, but this guy was SOOOOOOO adament about having a 2500 with the Aisin and then some other poster comes in and states that some 13's and 14 2500's came with the Aisin and it stopped due to not enough Aisins to put in the 3500's AND the 2500's...

I called them out, told them what I know and told them to prove it.

I spend more time on RV.net, but it's more because of the towing information that I participate in , as well as tire talk, camping issues, etc..sorta been in that for a little over 40 years....

ANYHOO...I knew I was right, just thought I'd share with my buddy's on here to "reinforce" what I thought I already knew....:)

Guess with all that said, maybe I shouldn't have brought it up...sorry for having cluttered the forum Gentlemen.....

It appears that some have changed my name to quite a few different things, but it doesn't bother me....I'm called "paw-paw" by my 4 grandkids, called "honey" by my wife of almost 45 years, called "dad" by my 3 children, and from there it goes down hill.....so I'm from the old school that being called names is just part of life, doesn't really bother me...now being shot at use to bother me:rof:hehe::thumbsup:

crankybear...heck, don't sound that bad.

some of you guys take me too serious:)....

I wish ram offered the aisin in the 2500. I would have went that route if so. Definitely not an option... Like others said, have him post the sticker with the options that match his Vin... If he had the only 2500 with the aisin, ram is going to have a lot of splaining to do to the rest of us! I'll feel bad for the poor guy when he finds out the truth...
