I'm new to the forums, and I'm looking to buy a Cummins here, but I see some guys with the newer trucks, saying they want to trade for a 24 valve.. Whats the difference?? Whats the advantage of each??
All dodge/cummins trucks are technically 24v from 98.5 and up.....03 and up are common rail trucks(which refers to the fuel system) 98.5 up to 02 have vp44 injection pumps and 98 and down are 12v and have mechanical injection pumps. Each has its own advantages and disadvantages when it comes to reliabilty and modding them.
The search tool in the top right hand corner is your friend man. Type in 12V vs 24V or something to that effect and you will have plenty of reading that answers the question.
Good luck and welcome
