So I just get home and change so I can go outside and see if the connectors I found at work would fit into the ECM harness clip and I hear the dog bark. So I open the front door and this is what I see! A damn moose eatin our late blooming roses. Anyway for those that have grounded pin#22 to make the manual high idle work does pin look like it will work? I made a few just in case.

I have some of those pins straight from cummins in my toolbox at work. I will take a look at them tommorow and let you know if they look right.
That would be great. Maybe next to tape measure. Thanks

That's one big a$$ dog!
You'll need to enable fast idle in the ecm in addition to grounding pin 22. Seams it is already enabled in some trucks but not in others. Try and see. If it doesn't work the dealer should be able to enable it for you or use a programmer (I.e. smarty)
Already enabled
so once you ground pin #22 what's the sequence to turn it on... and than off....

As a pacbrake dealer I stocked the pin and a short cable for those time that a customer damaged his on installation....

I also learned that to get a good connection you have to pull the connector off the ECM, and push the pin in until you can feel it click.... an won't pull back... our biggest problem with self installed units was the customer not making sure the pin's were plugged in... by following the instructions to pull the rubber plug and push in the pin..
If you are talking about using the manual high idle it is just controlled with the cruse control buttons. Cruse on....set......accel. I've heard the once cruse is on and you press set it bumps up to 1100 rpm then you adjust 100 rpm incrementally using accel or decel.
Went out and pulled the ECM harness to check the terminals I found at work. Looks like they are to large. Going to have to fork out the cash for the oem pigtail. :S:
would this mod work on a 2005 3500 manual?
Depends on the year of vehicle
well its 2005.

Should work after it's enabled in ECM and pin 22 is grounded.

Shouldn't be no different than my set up.
Just did this yesterday. The ECM terminal connector cost me $15. I think total time took around an hour to install. Smarty enabled the high idle for me and it works like a charm.
Did mine last month. Awesome mod for Maine winters!
Did the op get the fast idle working yet? Sorry i havnt got you any pics yet.
