I have a 2012 Ram 2500 with 220,000 miles. I am getting the service exhaust see dealer message intermittently it recently came on activated the check engine light and then went away but the check engine light stayed.

I also have the perform service message i need to change my ccv filter

checked codes with my scanner

P244A - Diesel Particulate filter differential pressure too low bank 1
P2002- Diesel Particulate filter efficiency below threshold bank 1

Truck drives fine.
I can clear the codes but eventually at least the check engine light will return but not always the service exhaust see dealer message.

Im stuck any advice would be appreciated.

I would be leaning toward checking out the health of your DPF.
Have you done your regular recommended services on your EGR system?

The reason I asked is when the egr valve stick open/partially open, they may not throw a code. That can make it run pretty dirty and add extra load to your DPF.
But
You’re not getting a filter full message either are you.
What does your tail pipe look like maybe with those codes the DPF could be cracked,
hence checking its health;)

Tail pipe looks fine

I did replace the turbo with a factory mopar replacement about three months ago i checked the exhaust system recently to make sure all of the bolts and bands were tight and everything was tight

under heavy load/acceleration there will rarely be dark smoke coming from the tail pipe

So your tail pipe is black inside?
You do have a few miles on the DPF so I understand but still, you should see no black smoke.
You seem to take well care of your vehicle.

I’m not a scientist to know about missing any of the precious metals for the coatings on the honeycomb inside, but physically, looking at it once you’ve dropped it to the ground it should be pretty easy to see the state of the honeycombs themselves whether they’re cracked or collapsed etc.

You could Google a few images to have an idea, if that would help.

Your EGR is due for a cleaning. You can take off the NOX and DPF and use Purple Power to clean them. It won’t get it clean like a company that bakes them, but it’ll be cleaner. The 2 long stainless tubing pieces you can take those off and blow compressed air through them just to make sure they aren’t clogged.
