I have a 2012 Ram 3500 6.7L Diesel. NO DEF. I am getting a NOx code, I purchased Up and Down stream Sensors that come with the modules. For the life of me I cannot find them the NOX sensors or the modules. Oh I can find the O2 sensors. No NOx sensor by the turbo and the parts I have match up to mopar part number but to no avail _ I cannot find on my truck. Can anyone provide any intel on the situation?

Thank you ! I already have both the upstream and downstream with modules. However I cannot find where they actually are. I see the O2 Sensors (which are smaller) but the NOx with modules are a mystery to me. Everything is pig tailed in. On all data diy was virtually no help. I have looked all over the internet to find the exact location and how the wiring is routed and nothing matches.

There should be a “box thingy” on the passenger side frame rail on the outside towards the front door.

There is! But due to the wire harness and all wires are wrapped, it looks like it goes to the O2 sensor. O2 sensors are much smaller than the NOx sensors. Those were taken out and blown out. This is really crazi. I rarely have an issue working on our trucks and NOT being able to find the part has never happened. 😖

There’s no O2 sensors. Only the tiny EGTs and the big NoX sensor.

On 10-12, the NoX sensor is on top at the end of downpipe. The box on the frame rail goes to this sensor.

Did some research. Haven’t had my 2012 for years now.

There’s actually 2 NoX sensors. On near front downpipe flange (the fat sensor), and one after first fat catalyst (Fat sensor with bend in it).

They may be called o2 sensors on some diagrams. They don't have a box. Just a big plug.

I have NEVER been so lost on repairing my truck. I have been working on my vehicles for the last 30 plus yrs and never have I experienced this.

It sounds to me like you got the NOX sensors for the 2012 chassis cab with DEF. It uses NOX sensors the pickup uses O2 sensors as it does not have DEF and an SCR.

Update: I have had a hard school of knocks!
my 2012 Ram 3500 has O2 sensors only. The truck is all stock, nothing has been deleted. So if anyone needs that intel it's valuable. I had put my vin number on several mopar sites and still came up with the same info on NOx sensors. There is a TSB requiring a wire harness replacement. And of course its on the consumer for the cost of the replacement.

Thank you!!-Definitely will check it out! Now that I finally have that situation taken care of with the O2 sensors, Now I am getting dtc P2262. OMGosh!!! does it ever stop? I have a exercise this up coming weekend and was planning on towing my TT. Now I have to repair truck and get the trailer ready. 😖 😖 😖 😖

That’s about a $250 dollar part. Get a OEM Cummins sensor. These $100 part store/internet sellers are JUNK!

I confused the actuator and turbo speed sensor. You’ll need an actuator and get the City Diesel part, it’s stronger that factory.
