2012 Laramie steering wheel replaced

Posting this to prevent someone from struggling like I did. My original factory steering wheel on my ‘12 Laramie was worn through to the heating coils at 100,000 miles. Mopar discontinued the factory part (1YH41XDVAB) and I couldn’t find a new one anywhere. Decided to give the 2013 wheel a try (5NH65DX9AA). It uses a different column so the dealer couldn’t guarantee it would work.

Ordered the wheel (about $500) and did the job last night. Plenty of YouTube videos on removing the wheel so I won’t get into that. Wheel comes bare so the bezel, switches, horn and airbag get installed on the new wheel. Everything bolted up and wired in. Everything seems to work as it should and I like the material better than the original wheel.
