Hey Everyone,

Just passed the 20,000 km point driving a 2012 5500 with a flat bed. Normally we pull a 34 foot triple axle single tire flatbed trailer from Precision manufacturers.

We've had the truck 4 months now and its performed really well in the worst possible conditions, hauling loads over 31,000 lbs.

The fuel mileage at the moment is about 29 litres per 100 kms and isn't getting any better. The air filter element can't see to handle to dusty roads and we've gone through 3 already at $45 a pop.

Changed the tires from the stock continentals to Michelin All-Terrain 16 plys and to date, those are the only upgrades.

Our next plan is to put in either a BANKS or AIRAID Stage 2 cold-air intake to see if we can get a little more power and fuel mileage improvements.

After testing the difference, we'll be installing an EDGE programmer to delete the DEF and stock settings.

Right now, the truck pulls like a horse but is pretty tame compared to where it could be. Top Speed, 139 km/hr....although a cop claims I was doing 140....still going to court on that one.:blues:

Let me know if anyone else has had some success in getting better fuel performance out of their 6.7 Diesels. We're doing about 5000 km a month now and our business is growing so any improvements in fuel mileage would help our bottom line.
