this summer i plan on getting a super b special and some 200's. is it possible to run 240's with this turbo? and is that extra 40 hp really noticable, or do you just lose more mileage and gain more smoke?

I'd stick with the 200's. Bigger is not always better. And IIRC, a super b special is only a 64mm turbo and I've seen the egt's from a 240hp injector on a 64 and they weren't pretty. We are talking 2000+. Did lay down 576 with a drag comp only though. But it was very smokey and very hot. Stick with the 200's and you'll get better driveability and most likely the same power with lower egt's.

I Have talked to several people running mach 6's with no major egt problems. They were smokey down low but cleaned up pretty well once turbo lit. I think the mileage is going to depend alot on the injectors and what else your trying to run with it.

I would say 200's..240's is a lot of injector with an SO VP. I have heard that 240+ sticks are not very good on an SO pump and can cause more damage than giving you needed power:confused013:..just my thoughts

oh okay, good to hear! cause i didnt wanna get 200's and then think what if i had 240's... but if 200's are at the practical limit of the stock pump thats fine with me, i dont have the cash to buy a bigger better pump.

i run 150's with my super b special and its awesome if its tuned right and my mileage is 19+mpg avg city hwy about 50/50 driving. if i really have a bad week i have never seen less than 17avg that is if i get on it hard and idle a lot.... i went with 150's because of that very reason.....and btw caleb s how do you drive ur turck with that turbo fueled by 150's???? My friends truck was so freaking laggy with the 66 silver bullet we couldnt hardly wait a week to get the 240-250's in.... i bet your in pain man... and also is your head oringed?

I just turn the box up when I am driving around..but I have only taken it out a couple times since I put the turbo on :confused013:. It smokes like a train on fire..so some bigger sticks will be nice to help clear that up and light the turbo faster :headbang:. No my head is not o-ringed, but I have a set of studs on the way and I plan on keeping the boost set at a decent pressure but nothing crazy. I do not plan on going any bigger than 220's but I would really like to find a set of DDP 200's ..

But yeah..back on topic. 200's should work great. Yes others run bigger, but IMO I figure that with a big turbo, big sticks and box...that is plenty of power right there...so what is 40ish horse from the sticks :confused013:

plus since that setup puts me almost at the limit of the stock pump, i highly doubt thats actually +40. probably like +15-20

I just went from 125 horse injectors to 200. With the box shut off it picked up 5 to 7 lbs. of boost. I'm just guessing 50 horsepower with the bigger injectors. These were the tips that I got in a group buy and I'm happy with them.

i run a special w/ 240's...egt's are warm (bordering on hot) but def. controllable...i run my edge on 3x1 and it does nice around town...only a haze unless you push it to the floor (then it will belch some coal)...crank it up to 6x5 though, and wow:shock:the smoke is unreal while that thing is trying to light....there are a few others running the same setup, and one gentleman actually does some towing with it, with good results:thumbsup: i have an so pump and am waiting to see how it holds up...so i think the choice of 200's or 240's comes down to what you ultimately want to do with the truck...jmho...

I would go with the 200's, I ran them with the special and the cruisin temps would easliy hit 1100+ on slight or taller uphill grades. They would hit 1450-1500 box all the way up. I say 240's would be to much. JMO

I ran the ADr with the Comp tune on PL05 or PL08. If I turned it down to PL02 it would run 800-900, I just set it to 5 or 8 and leave it.
