Does anyone know how often the fuel filter should be changed on the 2007 6.7? I had a 2003 5.9 and changed it every 10,000 miles.
I change mine every 10k when I do the oil.

Thanks for the responses. I guess I just flipped out when autozone wanted $75 for the filter. I am used to paying $20 for my 2003.
I agree. 50 bucks for a paper and plastic element, and the old steel type canisters were about 20 bucks.

What is the best way to change the piece of SHI* fuel filter on the 6.7?
Why is it a piece of SHI*?

I put a jar under my tube, then open the drain and then crack the lid, drains very easy from there.
Exactly, no fuss, no mess

Ok...trying to change my fuel filter for first time. I've got the replacement housing, and the dang wheel well removed, My son, who can see better than I, came out and got the plug off the sensor. I couldn't see it good enough to get it off...:banghead:

Hoping to not have to remove the wheel well next time.

Is it necessary to unplug the batteries like the article in the how to said?

Thanks!
I have never disconnected the batteries, nor have I ever removed the inner wheel well. It's about a 15 minute job using AH64ID's method for not making a mess. It will get easier for you after the first one.:D:D
