Hey guys. I have a 2007 5.9 6 speed with 217k thats giving me some hell. It is bone stock other than an exhaust intake and boost and egt gauges. I have a p0148(fuel delivery malfunction i think?) and my wait to start light comes on randomly and dings 10 times and cuts power by about 50%. Truck has no blow by, doesnt start hard no matter if its sat for 4 days in the cold or if its at operating temp, no white smoke at all ever, a little haze at WOT but thats understandable, and the truck act like there is nothing wrong with it as long as the WTS light isn't on. I hear a slight noise that kinda sounds like something to do with the injection system out of drivers side in the engine bay at idle sometimes but there are no leaks I can find. Also can hear a clicking in the engine bay when the ignition is on but truck is off if that matters. Just did fuel filter 2000 miles ago. I went today and had the dealership do the most recent reflash and that didn't change anything. I was going to do a FCA next but whats yalls opinions? and chance its a lift pump? I really hope its not injectors cause I have nowhere near 3 grand to spend right now

I don't know if this helps you or not but mine also has that clicking sound when the ignition is on and the engine is off.

In cold weather even after it starts the wait to start light stays off on mine but the voltage drops down low because the heater is still cycling until it gets good and warm.

Any updates Truckin? My 2007 5.9 is doing the exact same thing. I was told by previous owner that it's been checked by dealership and hey can't find anything wrong. It's an intermittent problem so far. But, I need to have it fixed as I depend on my trucks. Please post if you have any updates, I'll do the same. Thanks.

i believe the wts + 10 dings means excessive fuel return from injectors. injector problem(cracked, leaky, sticky?), connector tubes(loose?), fca,

You guys are having fuel system problems.

The WTS light coming on plus the chiming has nothing to do with the grid heaters. You can thank Chrysler for this "feature".

If you check for DTC's you likely have P1222 or P1223 that go along with the WTS light indicating a high side fuel pressure problem.

The WTS light coming on to indicate a high side fuel pressure problem has been reported numerous times.
Hopefully it's not the fuel injectors but usually it is...

Do a search on P1222 or P1223 for more info on this issue.

I appreciate the wealth of knowledge on this site. Sincerely. It's helped immensely in the past. I have read numerous threads about this problem. However, for whatever reason my truck is not throwing the codes that it should be with this problem. Its only throwing P0148, Generic Fuel Error. Which leads to my questions as to what other issues could cause the flashing and chiming. I've experienced no power loss, it comes on very erratically and turns itself off just as quick. I'm suspecting a bad ground in that circuit somewhere. Fortunately, there is a good diesel mechanic at the local dealership. I'll take it to him later this week. I will post later in the week when I get it back.

Have you checked for codes since the re flash? You will likely get different results now.

Update as promised...
So my truck is back from the shop. I have to hand it to the mechanic. To me, he went above and beyond what most dealership techs would do. Everything in the fuel system was tested and tested good. He emailed for guidance or suggestions from Daimler Chrysler,oops...Fiat, excuse me. They responded with change injectors. Mechanic didn't agree and tried a couple more things. In the end, insufficient torque on lines.
I only had to pay for a few hours labor. Most dealerships would've gladly bent me over and tell me everything was bad and enjoy it.
Thanks to all on here for help and suggestions and past postings.
