The truck is a 2007 2500 mega cab 5.9 auto. I just bought this truck. It doesnt seem to do this when i first get in the truck from sitting awhile. When I take off from a dead stop the truck will not go for a few seconds then finally kicks in and goes. There is also quite a bit of driveline vibration going on that may or may not be related. I checked for codes and nothing comes up. Please help.

I have a 2004 5.9 auto with 300k on it. All factory, and had the same issue after moving from Texas to northern California, and i found it to be the crappy fuel they have in cali. if i get a tank from chevron and use a good fuel additive that the issue fixed itself.

Your transmission may be in limp mode. This can be caused by a bad solenoid/sensor combination. I experienced the same thing - and only later realized it was because it was starting out in 3rd - aka limp mode.

Stop driving it. Check out the solenoid/sensor. I had the same problem just after buying mine. The dealership may have erased the code before selling it to you.

Check out my thread on this. I still haven't figured it out...
I believe it's titled: lacking acceleration from a stop

Usually this is the TC draining back. Put it in neutral for a minute or so before taking off. Do you mean it does or doesn't do do this after sitting for a while?

It makes a huge difference when this happens and whether it is in gear or park. Clarify a bit better.

This could be ujoints, center support bearing on rear DS (if you have one), transmisison problems, t-case, or injectors. Not enough info to even guess start checking things in the drive train.

It does this when im in gear.
If it is worse when warm, plan on a trans rebuild. With the noise and this behaviour I would guess you have some internal damage. Dropping the pan checking what is in it, fluid coloration, and the filter will tell you more.

Well I got lucky. It ended up being the gov pressure and transducer solenoids. Also my ujoints in the rear shaft were shot. It rides and shifts like a new one now.
