Hi all i have a 2006 mega cab with stock everything and a g56 tranny. I just got back home from a trip to afgan. With my truck sitting around for a year and the weather turnning cold i have noticed that i have little to no heat during driving but if I stop then the heat will come on. The blower blows great but no heat and i also have notice that my temp guage jumps alot from a norm. temp to cooler to hotter which has never done before. I bought the truck used and current have 76000 mil on it. And just need some help with my prob.:banghead:

Yeah I have the same issues....trying to figure it out. I have heat on recirc, but not on anything else. I need to check my doors on the heater. Flush the heater core.

And now I have the fan blower intermittent issue, so need to trace the iring in the column to fix it.

I wish the cummins came in a different wrapper.

I agree with oNORTHo, it sounds like there is air stuck in the cooling system or a bad thermostat. Make sure your coolant isn't low and that its at the full mark in the overflow tank. A low / empty overflow tank can let air get into the system. Sounds stupid, but I've seen this before. I also have the same problems as CHEMMINS with my heater. This problem seems to be consistent with all Ram pickups. My 99 24v had the same issues, I replaced the switch and everything worked fine. I have yet to do that with this truck, the switch is a dealer only part and is pricey.

Id say thermostat stuck in the fail safe open position. Coolant constantly being circulated and the radiator constantly cooling it.......come to a stop.....less air transfer over radiator....more heat
