I towed a loaded car trailer to Utah 2 weeks ago, plus had a bit of weight in the bed, just before I left AZ I noticed a bit of a shimmy @ 40 to 50 mph, progessively got worse on the trip back home, the shocks front MIGHT have 15 K on them, new "bump stops" the same, I live on a dirt road, washboarded road...........like I said, I took it into Les Schwabs today an had the wheels balanced and still the same shimmy......I wonder now IF they balanced the inside rear's ? it was a FREE "re-balance" as I had bought the alcoa knock off rims there.
this is why details are important, what shocks? depending on the brand, 15K may actually be about right for all they last. Some fit these trucks, but really aren't made for these trucks and don't hold up. Have you checked the front end over for loose/worn parts?
I did crawl under it a gave it a quick look,......I'm 73 years old an it's 110 degrees where I am.......I have a young buck neighbor that's a diesel mechanic @ Caterpillar........I'll wait an have him give it a closer look........................thanks for your input
just back back from 2 trips to Les Schwabs today, found the problem after they rebalanced the tires, twice.......it was the driver side, inside rear tire, it was seperating and out of round.....BIG time !....I dunno how I ddn't shred it coming back from Utah.
So the old 07 5.9 is starting to make some oil and smoke white at morning startup. Currently has a set of BD 33% injectors. They are just outside of the 24 month warranty, of course. Wondering how I should proceed to test? It runs and idles fine so a shutdown test might now show what I need. I...
My truck has what feels like a driveline vibration at 71 mph when accelerating slightly or climbing a small hill, ie. light power load. The speed is very specific and seems to have increased a bit with time. This started when my son had the transmission rebuilt. The transmission shop replaced...
With the recent truck issues it became clear I needed a backup ride as my truck ages. Pondered several options and settled on one, a MINI R53. Monday I found one, purchased it and proceeded to get a trailer to haul it home. The one drawback was it was 150ish miles away and the only time to...
I was driving the other day and was just starting from a stop and every time I would shift and start to accelerate there would be a popping noise. The truck is a 2005 4x4 with the g56. Anyone else have a similar issue?
New here! I've been getting spotty answers all over the web for these 2 questions, so I'm bringing it to the forum.
Does the 06 Dodge Ram 2500 4x4 have the KILLER DOWEL PIN? Yes.. no.. ?
Does the 06 Dodge Ram 2500 4x4 have any 53 BLOCK castings? Some.. none.. ?
