well FWD and AFT movement of the crank and I keep tearing up the front seal on my trany. on the 4 seal. second trany, second torque converter, rebalanced drive line. and second flex plate. got 185K on the truck.
Sounds more like a thrust bearing required more than a crank.
Just how much crank movement (end float) do you have? Dial gauge on the crank and max movement either way?
But pretty hard for an auto to destroy a thrust washer unless there were problems with the flexplate/torque converter earlier in it's life.
