Saw info on this topic in the search section a while back but can't seem to find it again. Looking at buying a Cali truck with the 235hp/460tq motor. Will a programmer that re-flashes the ecm install a tune that is based off the SO power specs or the HO power specs??? For example, if it's a 100 hp tune will it go to 335 or will it be based off the HO power numbers and be 405???

I remember reading that a re-flash type programmer will be based off HO power levels. But I could be wrong.

Thanks in advance.

I don't know about all programmers, but the smarty reflashes the ecm to a new "stock". when you first use the Smarty it ups the stock tune to 305HP, which is the HO tuning on the 49 state model. So even if you take Smarty off, the truck will still be at 305. My 235HP truck is like that.
To further answer your question, say you put the SW5 tune on, which is 90 horse. That adds 90 horse to 305.
Hope this answers it for ya.
