20+ mpg @ 70 mph? :hehe:

I think the downhill slope and tailwind are going to be your first place to look.

Once in awhile I can cruise @ 65 and hit 20 (barely). That's something like 1600 rpms with 3.42's and 285/70's.

Running 70-80 mph interstate for hundreds of miles nets me 18-19 usually unless there is a headwind/hills/traffic then it goes down.

At 70 or so I am right around 2000 RPM and depending on driving conditions, I can get right around 20 MPG. At 75 I get about 18 to 19 at about 2150 RPM. At 65 I have gotten 24, hand calculated and the engine is turning about 1800 RPM.

My impression is the EPA stuff does affect it some but RPMs is the real issue. for me 1700 to 1800 RPM is the sweet spot for mileage.

At 55 mph and deleted and driving very carefully 20+ mpg is possible. I now have got tanks over 600 miles. Once summer comes I think I may get a tank over 700 miles if driven properly and under the right conditions.

I just went to New Mexico skiing round trip around 1400 miles. When I stayed around 70mph about 1700 rpm EVIC showed 18.5 and from 70-75mph it went down to 17 mpg this was running smarty on SW1 but was always going into a good head wind needless to say I was very disapointed. I could get 16mpg with just the EGR unpluged!

At 70 mph I'm turning 2000 rpm and not getting even close to 20 mpg. More like 14-15. :)

I'm seeing about 1650 RPM @ 70 and the lie-o-meter IS saying 21mpg. I have 3.73 gears, stock tire/wheels and have just deleted and this test was on a back country road. I never saw 20 before and I'm running on a partial tank. I'll be filling up in a couple days and plan to use that tank for a highway mileage test - otherwise known as "the monthly shopping trip to the big city".

lol at 20 mpg's... The only time my truck has exceeded 450 miles is on the first tank with the little tires all highway.

33x12.50x20 and stock can barely get me to 400 miles on a tank of petro.

I would love to see someone take of picture of there trucks trip-o-meter with a full tank of fuel in it, no cheating, get over 600 miles on a tank.

Empty I routinely put 500+ before filling up and sometimes over 600 miles with plenty of fuel to spare.

Ram (Dodge Ram 3500) | Fuelly

After a long hwy trip the EVIC will read over 700 DTE after fueling up.

hand calculating is getting me 14 and change in town, i havent been out on the highway enough to calculate it yet(this is deleted). Before i was getting 12.1-12.3 in town hand calculated and around 17 on the highway. I'm hoping with deletes to get 19-20 on the highway.

I just bought a 2010 cclb 68rfe 3.42 w/ 265's, I get between 11.5(with some towing) and very best not going over 68 mph was 15.3. This is all stock no deletes. I run about 1650 rpm's @ 68 mph.
