how do set the timing on a 91 intercooled motor? thanks in advance.

For a timing advance or Bump, loosen the pump bolts and rotate towards head in 1/8" increments There is a reference mark on the timing housing and pump. For setting timing on a pump install, Read Here 1stGen.org :: View topic - Pump Issues

is there a special tool used for the pump bolts i could only get one loose with the wrench and got one loose with a punch and the bottom one i didnt get at all!!! i gave up but i would really like to play around with this and see what i could gain? any tips?

Modded "S" Wrench

A 13mm "S" wrench with the end bent about 5-8 degrees works pefect.
