I am considering buying a 1992 d250 diesel club cab 4x4 w/ auto trans. with 118,000 miles. What do I need to look for. Owner says it has all new brakes, its been repainted, new alternator, total rebuild on front axle, new transmission detent cable, he says the overdrive is not working. I read a post about a throttle position sensor problem would make the O/D not work. Is this a common problem? I would be selling my 1996 F-250 reg. cab 4x4 with a 351. What is the biggest change I would see other than the big improvement in power and MPG. better or worse ride? etc. any thoughts are appreciated He also said dash lights are not working, I should see it today and should know more then.:stirpot:

Sounds like it could be a solenoid in the transmission.

D250 ride rough since its leaf sprung front axle. Way better mileage than a 351 for sure IMO.
