Thanks Guys!

As you can see from these pics, this truck had it's share of rust... Point of interest was that the seller advertised this truck as "rust free" :RANTIN:

nice lookin truck.... just needs a nice power plant  this your first cummins conversion?

Yes, this is my first swap. My previous truck was a 1983 Dodge Crew Cab / Cummins, but the motor was already done when I got the truck. :thumbsup

OK, lets get to some good stuff....

One of the dilemmas in swapping the Cummins into the ford is the cross member... it is too shallow and it interferes with the low mount a/c pump.

So by fabricating a new cross member and relocating that cross member further back I have solved those issues....

Here is the motor between the rails... notice that I have already cut down the stock cross member.

Another minor issue...

As you can see from these photos, the previous owner really hacked the crap out of the drivers side frame rail, all to install a power steering box...

I'll have the motor set with 2" of offset wich will give me enough clearance for the a/c compressor and clearance for the drivers side drop NP205 transfer case...

I pre-fabed a cross member from wood to get an idea of what I wanted, I then transfered to steel...
