I drive a 2008 6.7 and live in MA. Truck is tuned/deleted and I go back to stock yearly for inspection. This has been problematic. I haven't been able to get 6 out of 7 emissions monitors to ready. Only 5. Over the past couple days I replaced the exhaust manifold, rebuilt the turbo, replaced coolant lines/oil lines to turbo. This was done because the truck appeared to have a manifold leak. When I put the truck back together it still acted like it did before. Stalls if under too much throttle at idle, turbo hissing. When i disconnected the downpipe the truck sounded normal. Leads to me to believe the DPF is clogged. During all that work i did to the truck, I cleaned the EGR valve and cooler which has never been done. What confuses me is if the DPF is clogged why dont I have a CEL or any overhead dash messages? I drove the truck around 1500 miles trying to get monitors to ready then my truck stalled out from what I thought was a bad manifold leak.
What i'm trying to also get at here is...
After 15 years in Mass would my vehicle be exempt from emissions testing (OBD II plug in). If im reading the Mass laws correctly this should be the case soon. I plan to hopefully get out of the state in the next couple years to NH which does not do OBD II plug in at inspection for my truck. Just frustrating because the truck runs fine deleted and as soon as I put it back to stock I have problems.
