I drive a 2008 6.7 and live in MA. Truck is tuned/deleted and I go back to stock yearly for inspection. This has been problematic. I haven't been able to get 6 out of 7 emissions monitors to ready. Only 5. Over the past couple days I replaced the exhaust manifold, rebuilt the turbo, replaced coolant lines/oil lines to turbo. This was done because the truck appeared to have a manifold leak. When I put the truck back together it still acted like it did before. Stalls if under too much throttle at idle, turbo hissing. When i disconnected the downpipe the truck sounded normal. Leads to me to believe the DPF is clogged. During all that work i did to the truck, I cleaned the EGR valve and cooler which has never been done. What confuses me is if the DPF is clogged why dont I have a CEL or any overhead dash messages? I drove the truck around 1500 miles trying to get monitors to ready then my truck stalled out from what I thought was a bad manifold leak.
What i'm trying to also get at here is...
After 15 years in Mass would my vehicle be exempt from emissions testing (OBD II plug in). If im reading the Mass laws correctly this should be the case soon. I plan to hopefully get out of the state in the next couple years to NH which does not do OBD II plug in at inspection for my truck. Just frustrating because the truck runs fine deleted and as soon as I put it back to stock I have problems.

Here's your MA inspection requirements and excemptions. It goes by 2008 models and newer not "after 15 years". Unfortunately. MA has long adopted CA's emmisions standards. If that's totally the case, then even a 2007.5 is not excempt. Basically, any RAM with a 6.7L.

Easy to just check with your DMV and verify.

My truck has a sticker under the hood that says something along the lines of "not for sale in california due to emissions" the truck was made in canada and came from canada before i bought it

No Rams were made in Canada.
It was made in mexico or the US.
If the Vin starts with a 3 it was made in Mexico
1,4,5 it was built in the US.

What programmer or platform are you using to program your ECM?

EFI live on an autocal v3. Couldn't tell you the tuning company itself. Mechanic got a new tuner and tunes when he rebuilt the trans.

Hey, the I/M Rediness monitors will not all set with just a few days driving. It needs to go through hot/cold cycles, active/passive regen’s, so on so forth. I’m in Commiefornia, I need 9 out of 11 I/M Rediness monitors set and I’m going through the same as you cause I disconnected the batteries to pull out the drivers seat to recover it. It’ll take me about 3-400 mikes before I’ll get the 9 needed. This has now happened to me twice.

Hook up to a heavy trailer and puts some miles on it. If you have access to one that is.

I never had issues getting my monitors reset, just took a few days of driving around town.

Check everything, I’ll bet you missed something.

What monitors are not un setting? Any codes?

My Edge Insight CTS can do it if the stock tune is loaded but mine will reset the IM's without it.

Yeah i'll double check everything as far as plugging everything in. No codes. The DPF was clogged enough to the point where the truck was stalling out if i gave it enough throttle while going under 10mph. It would stall in park too. I originally had to no clue it was the DPF because there was no codes. I am suspicious that my stock file is not right somehow. Last year when I put the truck back to stock i had a different tuner and i was able to get the monitors to set quickly and the truck would regen. I drove close to 1500 miles with no regen this time before i had to clean the DPF with a pressure washer because it seemed very plugged up and made the truck run poorly and the turbo sounded weird when it was on the truck plugged up. I determined this by disconnecting the downpipe and revved the truck up...no stalling and no weird sounds from the turbo. This lead me to believe the DPF was clogged. Currently my CAT and O2 monitors are not setting. I dont know what the CAT means for my truck as it has a catted downpipe, cat converter and a dpf if i'm correct.

Will your tuner allow you to force a burn off?

mark
So in the past ive used my Edge cts2 which has a mobile regen feature. Last year when I had put my truck back to stock with my old autocal tuner my edge cts2 mobile regen worked and i was able to get a inspection sticker. My edge cts2 is just a monitor
