A lot of folks have tried a lot of different stuff. What works and what doesn't is posted somewhere, search for it. What you have done is fooled the computer. It is still running like the EGR is OK. There is more to the programming than the EGR opening and closing. There are sensors that measure air flow and a lot more. The intake butterfly for one thing is still working like designed and your truck is not getting enough air. And then it is opening and then closing, hence the surging. Do some research/ read some posts before you make an expensive mistake. A programmer is needed to remove the EGR without a CEL. Just unplug it for now. Good luck and keep reading.

There is a thread on this very idea, not sure where it is right now. I tried this as well. No CEL for about 20 miles or so, but it did hesitate and buck and eventually threw a CEL. The guys here said it best, just unplug it and live the the light. By the way electical tape hides the light at least at night :hehe: My blackmaxx took care of my CEL :party018:

I tried this on my truck. It worked great at first until it tried to regen. I got the lightning bolt, bucking and jerking, and it went into limp mode where it de-rated a bunch of power and wouldn't go over a certain speed. I'd suggest hooking it all back up before it tries to regen and just unplugging the egr valve.

Seems like a natural evolution for us men. We refuse to believe the hundreds of posts & threads on a topic. Just got to see for our self if it is true. :buttkick: Then when we get the same crappy results we Post a thread asking why or why. :rof:hehe:

Part of being a man I guess. :confused013::party018::stirpot:
