Pulling the cummins out of my dodge this weakend and ordering some parts today for the swap to a 99 super duty. The motor runs good in the dodge now but what atention should i pay to the 12v as far as gaskets and what not is there any notorious problems that should be adressed while its out the truck?
I plan on cleaning her up and painting her but what else?

while the engine is out of the truck fix the KDP its an easy fix that will be even easier while the engine is out. Look at the push rod cover make sure thats not leaking that tough to fix when motor in the truck.

if your planning to make big power down the road (or just dont want to worry about it) get some studs for the main. alot easier to access them with the motor out than to try and pull the pan down the road with the motor in the truck.

both front and rear main seals

advance your timing if desired

thats all i can think of, rest of the stuff can be reached pretty easily in or out of the truck.

i did my GSK kit with the engine out, i'm glad I did. Easier than leaing in the engine bay and loosing the shims all over.
