From what i know, you will have a hard time getting 800 HP out of a vp44 truck (24 valve). I love the 24 valve but I am only looking for about 600HP. A p-pumped 12 valve should be good for the power but you will have other hurdles with that.

I don't know much at all about the 12 valve. 600 is a safe peak goal for 24 valve IMO.

Power - twin turbos, high hp injectors, fuel box (edge or quad).
Supporting mods - You will need gauges, an upgraded fuel pump, head studs, high HP clutch or TC with built tranny, possibly more.

Ok, also whats the advantage of running compound turbos instead of 1 big turbo?
Faster spool up, lower EGTs, better driveablitly, less smoke, etc... Compounds are waaaaay better for daily driving than a big single.

I'm also looking at building a 24V, compound turbo setup - I think anyways. Still trying to decide what I want to go with, everyone tells me go with a CR, but I want the simplicity of the 12Vs and 24Vs - but I still want to be able to tune the truck somewhat. Which is why I'm leaning towards the 24V.

For a daily driver, I'm all about less smoke. At the track, I could care less. A 24V would allow you to detune your truck on days when you aren't going to need all of that power (maybe when your girl, assuming your a guy, needs to drive your truck). A 12V, you'll need to physically change things on the engine to "tune/detune" the power.
