So been doing a little research and will be compounding my Fummins. I will be using new he351 ive bought with borg s369sxe it's got .91 rear housing. I'm looking a cool egt 480 to 500hp. I tow a bit with firewood and other stuff so want low egts. But still want it be fun around town. Mods so far are

Afc live
60 pound valve springs(yet to go in)
Full 4inch exhaust
1/2 Braided feed line.
Full ceramic s/b clutch

What size injectors? Thinking 5x12 sacs from pdd.
Also 024dvs
Head bolts or studs?
Thinking about 18° timing as I don't want it hard to start in the cold. Not that Australia has anything below -8 where I live.
Don't have an airbox or snorkel yet as I think ill have to mount the primary on the opposite side to the secondary as cause I'm right hand drive I not much space on the driver side and of how I've got my a/c pump setup. I can then run the dump pipe out the passenger side of truck away from the starter motor which is driver side for me.

I've read about porting the waste gate on the he351 and also is the spring gate a better way going then the stock wastegate?

Once it's mounted ill get massive airbox and 5inch snorkel setup mate.

Anyone got a setup like this? I've watched pdd video on it but want some real world experience's with a setup like this.

Also will 60 pound valve springs be enough. I want a very reliable 500hp. And who here has 500hp with zf6 manual. Mines outta 7.3 so will it handle the power ok?

Nice looking Fummins! You might want to PM jkidd. He seems to be really knowledgeable when it comes to turbos and pairing them with the correct injectors / performance parts.

Hi, 5x.012 will be plenty of fuel for a k27. Have you considered an s300? parts are more available and you can rebuild them easier.

what should i do to the he351 regarding wasgate flapper mods etc. make it bigger and spring gate it? Or just use the stock wastegate?

Also whats evryones opinion on external gating the setup. im not fussed if it cost more if its a heaps better way to keep drive pressures in check. And also is the steed speed t3 external port manifold the bee's knees. LOOKS like a neat piece of gear

I have compounds turbos on my 96 a hx40 that's made into a 63/65/12 over a s475 with 1.15 housing. My fueling is 7x11 injectors 024 dv 18 degrees of timing no.fuel plate afc housing mods 4k giv springs. Highest I seen my egt was 1100 pulling my 6000lb gooseneck with 8000lbs on it.
It makes a great daily driver to zero turbo lag little to no smoke. This is the first truck I ever put compounds on I will never go back to a single charger. I bought the crazy Carl piping kit from jkidd. Bought my s475 for $450 from a truck shop it was a fresh reman.

Yeah that sound like a killa setup and something im after is low to no smoke and cooler egts. I only tow max of 4500kg but my egts get abit high up some long pulls. So with the compounds im hoping iI can drop a few hundred degrees in egts and make more usuable power towing and just in general driving.

hoping my south bend single plate can hold up to the power for awhile but.

Ill be happy with 18 degrees timing as it shouldnt be a problem starting I take it?

also was thinking 5x12 sac nozzles on my 215hp injectors if that works.

What gate setup you running? And are your drive pressures working well and what boost is your truck running

Yes 18 degrees timing it still starts fine even on cold days. With 5x12 u should have hardly any smoke. I know ddp just came out with a 10 hole injectors for the 12v. The more holes the less smoke. You should check out power driven diesels youtube channel they built a twin turbo 12v tow rig dually they use he351 as top turbo. It made over 700hp with very little smoke

Yeah that sounds good. Very little smoke is the go. Limit fuel waste is the go.

I've watched that YouTube video actually its a good watch actually. I think with our dynos they read 25% lower than the US so I think 500hp in AUS is about 700hp US for some reason our dynos are calibrated lower

You will be happy with the set up I think. My setup works great. Once you get the compounds on you will never want a 12v with a single turbo. They just work so much better

Yeah that's exactly what i've been reading on compounds. Just want some insight on set-ups as I've read a few threads with people having big drive pressure issues with wastegate set-ups etc. It'll be over the next 12 months ill have everything collected as I need the truck for daily use.

Yeah mate its a good thing. Drives awesome and the swap went easy as hell. Used zf6 from behind a 7.3 powerstroke with adapater and engine mounts from destroked. sb clutch etc. sterling 10.5 diff with 4.10 gears etc.

Only problem here is where I live vehicles rust out. It's hard to find a truck with little to no rust diesel in my area bring big money

Ur lucky I had to replace every body panel and the bed on my 96. The frame has rusted out up front need to cut it out and weld in new section
