Alright guys. I'm doing a 12 valve swap in my 2006 Dodge 3500 4x4 dually with the auto 48RE. I have a question before I proceed with this project. Now I've done a Fummins build and it was actually pretty easy.

My question here is for those that I hope know for sure is will my automatic work behind this 12 valve? Am I going to need tuning on the computer? I'll leave all the ecm and such connected but don't know if the trans will work. Anybody know for sure?

The 48 re is just a upgraded 47re, i'm using a 47re in my Ford with a Standalone Controller. I've been using this one for over 7 years.

I put a 48re in my 1997 truck.......swapped out the throttle pressure servo for mechanical linkage and a few other things.......thinking you'll run into problems going your direction unless you run a standalone controller.
