You beat me to it Dan ...well you laugh, but a buddy of mine actually has spark plugs in his 6BT and it runs on alcohol, it is one bad mother.
yes there are a few hardcore pulling trucks or tractors that will convert their diesel setups to running alcohol and they are expensive/hard to do, but once their tuned right man do they go, theres a new holland competition tractor puller in the NTPA that converted his diesel to alcohol, and i think a few years ago he was number one on the national circuit. its pretty [email protected] if you ask mewell you laugh, but a buddy of mine actually has spark plugs in his 6BT and it runs on alcohol, it is one bad mother.
i really have no idea, but according to the NTPA the weights and everything are different for the alcohol converts, but this is something i dont know a whole lot about thiswhat do they run the disturber off of??
for the sake of simplicity (on a not so simple setup) they likely use a magneto setup where the spark is triggered via a crank position sensor rather than having a mechanical drive distributor.what do they run the disturber off of??
what are valves?:confused013:I think the gaps a little off on your #2 intake. You might want to do a quick valve adjustment.![]()

Bill, I have a 1948 IH MD the only thing is I don't have an 80 gallon Diesel tank:thumbsup:I have an International crawler tractor that has both spark plugs and injectors.
You use the gas to get it started. Once it starts flip a lever and it switches to diesel.
The gas "tank" holds about a quart, the diesel tank 80 gallons.
Mine's a 1954 TD-24, same size as a D-8 Cat.Bill, I have a 1948 IH MD the only thing is I don't have an 80 gallon Diesel tank:thumbsup:
