Ok, my ST of course did not come with an LSD. I would like to install one with a new bearing/seal kit as I had some sparkling oil when I changed the oil out. I am on a budget and I am trying to find a good used one but have not had much luck. I found a guy who has one local but it has 100k miles on it for $350. I am really weary about installing one with that many miles on it as these are considered a wear item. I know a new auburn unit is $450 new. So what do you guys think? I have messed with the old school LSD in the old mopars that can be rebuilt with clutches but never these ones. I was thinking maybe I could insp it real good and see how much wear is on it? I will also see if he can lower on the price too.
Is the used one the AAM helical style LSD that came in the trucks stock? If so I have over 200k on mine and it still looks and acts brand new. And as far as I know there are not any clutch packs or wearable items in them besides the gears.

As long as the gears are good it should last you along time. May want to check the bearing and replace them just for good measure. Just don't use cheap bearings get the same ones from the part numbers stamped on them.
